JUDGE ADDRESSING CONRAD MURRAY BEFORE HIS SENTENCE IS READ

JUDGE ADDRESSING CONRAD MURRAY BEFORE HIS SENTENCE IS READ. On November 29, 2011 Doctor Conrad Murray was sentenced to four years in prison for the death of Michael Jackson. On November 7, 2011 a jury reached a verdict in the involuntary manslaughter case against Michael Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray. Conrad Robert Murray has been found guilty in the crime of involuntary manslaughter. Prosecutors depicted Murray as a reckless physician who abandoned Jackson while he was under the effects of the powerful anesthetic propofol on June 25, 2009. Attorneys for the Houston-based cardiologist countered that Jackson was addicted to the drug and self-administered the fatal dose when Murray left his bedroom. Murray agreed to become Jackson's personal physician as the singer prepared for a series of comeback concerts in 2009. Murray did not testify during the trial but previously acknowledged to police that he gave Jackson propofol and other sedatives on the morning the singer died. On June 25, 2009, American singer Michael Jackson died of acute propofol intoxication after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles. His personal physician, Conrad Murray, said he found Jackson in his room, not breathing, but with a faint pulse, and that he administered CPR on his bed to no avail. After a call was placed to 9-1-1 at 12:20 pm, Jackson was treated by paramedics at his home, and later pronounced dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County Coroner ruled Jackson's death a homicide. In this clip Judge Michael Pastor says: ÒI must determine the appropriate sentence and in making that determination the court is guided by a triad of possible sentences that the court can impose; two three or four years.Ó
