Following the attack, the UNHCR voiced grave concern about the attack and the reported casualties, "among them women and children", and offered condolences to the people affected. According to different reports, in a series of attacks by Iran on numerous targets in Kurdistan Region of Iraq, dozens of people were killed and wounded. The attacks reportedly targeted centers belonging to Kurdistan Party of Iran (KDPI) and the Komala Party of Iranian Kurdistan.
