AGARTALA, TRIPURA, INDIA - 2018/04/21: People holding chickens and one man pouring out something from a pot to them are seen during the Garia Puja festival in Agartala. Idian Hindu priest sacrifice chickens and doing a ritual in front of the tribal deity 'Garia' during the Garia Puja festival in Agartala. A three-day festival to honor the deity Garia is held annually on the first day of the Hindu calendar month of 'Vaisakh' (mid-April). The Baba Goria is the universal God of all indigenous Tripuris. Goria Ter ('ter' is the word for 'festival' in Kokborok language) is observed for seven days commencing from last day of Chaitra proceeded by Hari Buisu. The first day of the puja is called 'Moha Buisu' and the day of immersion is called 'Sena'. The articles that are essential during the puja are kept strictly under lock in the house of Kherphang as per the rule of the Goria puja.
