Alpaca whisperer at Delitzsch Zoo

03 November 2023, Saxony, Delitzsch: 82-year-old Bernd Düsel is happily awaited by the three alpacas Nelly, Peaces and Lara Madonna (r-l) for a walk together at Delitzsch Zoo. For 15 years, every Friday has been walk day for the three alpaca ladies, making it one of the most varied days of the week. The former marketing manager, who is known in his area as an alpaca breeder and alpaca whisperer, shares his love of alpacas with his wife Anita in his retirement. For both of them and the three residents of the zoo, the hour-and-a-half walk in the meadows and the adjacent park has become a fixed ritual in all weathers, much to the delight of visitors and walkers.
