Remains Of Mexican Heroes of Independence Exhumed

MEXICO CITY, MEXICO - MAY 30: A military parade carry the remains of the Mexican heroes of Independence, exhumed from the Angel of Independence and taken to the Castle of Chapultepec at Paseo de la Reforma on May 30, 2010 in Mexico City, Mexico. As the country commemorates the Bicentennial of Independence and the Centennial of the Mexican Revolution, Mexico's president Felipe Calderón Hinojosa held a ceremony with military honors to mark the exhumation of national heroes Miguel Hidalgo, Ignacio Allende, Juan Aldama, José María Morelos, Mariano Matamoros, Mariano Jiménez, Javier Mina, Vicente Guerrero, Leona Vicario, Andres Quintana Roo, Nicolás Bravo and Guadalupe Victoria. The remains will be displayed at the National Palace for the the exhibition "Mexico 200 years, the country under construction?, which will be open next August. After the exhibition and during the 200th anniversary of death of Miguel Hidalgo, they will return to the mausoleum of the column of Independence.
