Los Angeles County Firefighters at scene of a crash between a metrolink train and a Chevy Cavalier

Los Angeles County Firefighters at scene of a crash between a metrolink train and a Chevy Cavalier car that occurred just before noon on Monday in Covina. The initial impact was made as the train was crossing Asusa Ave in Covina. The vehicle was dragged about 150 yards before coming to a rest on the tracks according to Inspector Edward Osorio of the L.A. County Fire Dept. 3 adult men were inside the car at time of crash. The driver of the car and a passenger were in critical condition and a passenger in the front seat suffered only minor injuries according to Osorio. The 2 critical victims were airlifted to County USC Hospital and the one with minor injuries was taken to the same hospital by ambulance. The metrolink train originated in San Bernardino and was heading to Los Angeles at the time of accident. Nobody aboard the train suffered any injuries.
