DEC 31 1968 Cold Snap Steams Up Denver's Morning A vacillating cold front that finally slammed into the Denver area Monday night had the metropolitan area all steamed up Tuesday-in more ways than one. Top photo, the sun begins to peek through clouds in a view from the Valley Highway looking east about E. 70th Ave. It was so cold even the birds were looking for any kind of shelter and this car provided it for them in the downtown area. Bottom left, the usual winter problem-starting a cold car-occupied a group of peo­ple at 33rd and Wyandot Sts. while the unidentified girl at the lower right was prepared for colder weather Tuesday - she carried a thick woolen blanket with her to huddle in if the bus was delayed.
