(Original Caption) Bloomington, Minnesota: The Minnesota Twins say Harmon Killebrew (73 photo), called club president Calvin Griffith 1/15, and asked for his unconditional release so he could sign with the Kansas City Royals. Griffith agreed to Killebrew's request but expressed sincere regret at his leaving the Twins' organization. Last week the Twins offered the 38-year-old slugger as batting instructor and pinch hitter.
