Article about the St. Croix Railroad, a miniature train, ran Sat Aug 30, 2003, Star Tribune, page E1. // Hudson Wisconsin 8/2003-- One Sunday afternoon every month the St. Croix RR is open to the public, lines are long the wait is worth it! 7 different trains run through 9 acres of land and are large enough for riders. This steam engine is being run by Cliff Hudson, president of the St. Croix RR club. he is hauling passengers who sit in little coal cars as they run through 9 acres of woods. The St. Croix Railroad (SCRR) was founded in 1971 and is incorporated as a non-profit organization by the State ofMinnesota. The organization is financed by member dues and donations, as well as by public donations. Located south of Hudson, Wisconsin, the Model Railroad system is located on approximately 9 acres of land, consisting of three distinct railroad lines providing // Locomotives operated at the SCRR use varied sources of power, including steam (fired with coal, propane and oil,) electricity, diesel and gasoline.
